Intellectual Property · Propriété Intellectuelle

Your ideas deserve
protection.

Intellectual property is often a company's most valuable asset — and the most frequently underprotected. We register, license, and litigate to ensure your innovations and brands are fully secured.

Intellectual property disputes and transactions require both specialist legal knowledge and strategic commercial awareness. Whether you need to register a trademark, license a patent, pursue an infringer, or defend against a claim, the quality of your IP counsel determines the outcome.

We appear before the Tribunal judiciaire de Lyon in IP matters and work with INPI, EUIPO, and EPO on registration and opposition proceedings across French, EU, and international frameworks.

Areas We Handle

Trademark Registration & Protection

Filing at INPI and EUIPO; trademark clearance searches; monitoring services; opposition proceedings; and cancellation actions against conflicting marks.

Copyright

Protection of literary, artistic, musical, and software works; enforcement against infringement; licence drafting; and moral rights disputes.

Patents & Trade Secrets

Patent strategy, licensing, and invalidity proceedings; protection of confidential information and know-how through contractual and judicial means.

IP Licensing & Transactions

Drafting and review of licences, technology transfer agreements, R&D collaboration agreements, and IP warranties in M&A transactions.

IP Litigation

Infringement actions, customs seizures (saisie-contrefaçon), interim injunctions, and cross-border enforcement across EU jurisdictions.

Frequently Asked Questions

An INPI registration covers France only and is sufficient if your operations are domestic. An EUIPO (EU trademark) gives protection across all 27 member states for a modest additional cost. We assess your commercial footprint and recommend the optimal strategy.

A saisie-contrefaçon is a court-ordered seizure, executed by a bailiff, that allows IP rights holders to gather evidence of infringement before the defendant is alerted. It is a powerful tool in IP enforcement and we have extensive experience in obtaining and executing these orders.

Yes. Software is protected by copyright under the Code de la propriété intellectuelle as soon as it is created. Additional protection for algorithms and processes may be available through trade secret law and, in certain cases, patents.
